Project Overview
On a steeply sloped parcel in upper Brentwood, this commission presented one of the most demanding structural challenges in CRDP's portfolio. The client required a single-level living experience — no stairs, full accessibility — on a site with a natural grade change of forty-two feet across the buildable pad.
The solution is a structure that cantilevers thirty-eight feet off a reinforced concrete moment frame, placing the primary living volumes over the canyon without touching it. The result is a residence that appears to float above the treeline when viewed from below, while reading at street level as a grounded, quiet presence.
Design development is complete. The project is currently in structural engineering coordination for building permit submission to the City of Los Angeles, with construction anticipated to begin in early 2026. This will be CRDP's most complex structural execution to date.
